Angelique Howington Works
![Angelique Angelique](https://workscounselingcenter.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Angelique-scaled.jpeg)
As a licensed professional counselor with a mental health service provider designation (LPC-MHSP), I bring nearly a decade of experience in the mental health field, specializing in OCD, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, and clinician development. As the owner and founder of Works Counseling Center and Connect Counseling Center, I have built a thriving practice focused on providing exceptional care to clients while fostering a strong, growth-oriented team of therapists
My Approach to Supervision
Supervision is more than just meeting licensure requirements—it’s a transformative process of growth, self-exploration, and clinical mastery. I focus on:
- Developing expertise in treating OCD – Providing guidance on ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) and evidence-based interventions for OCD and anxiety disorders.
- Self-exploration and professional identity – Helping supervisees understand their values, strengths, and challenges to shape their unique therapeutic style.
- The role of self-disclosure in therapy – Navigating when and how to use personal experiences ethically and effectively in clinical work.
- Boundary-setting in the therapeutic relationship – Ensuring clinicians maintain professional, ethical, and sustainable practices.
- Ethical decision-making and clinical responsibility – Encouraging critical thinking and adherence to best practices to uphold the highest standards of care.
What to Expect from Supervision with Me
As an ERP therapist, I lean heavily into that role in supervision. I will never ask you to do something I wouldn’t do myself—I believe in leading by example. I bring a balance of directness, humor, and accountability, creating an engaging and supportive space where you can grow both as a therapist and as a person.
Expect me to:
- Challenge you to step outside of your comfort zone while maintaining a strong ethical foundation.
- Hold you accountable to your goals, your growth, and the high standards of clinical care.
- Encourage authenticity, self-exploration, and self-trust so you can develop your own voice as a therapist.
- Create a space where tough questions are welcomed and honest feedback helps you sharpen your skills.
- Prioritize transparency and accountability in everything we do, ensuring you gain confidence in your clinical decision-making.
- Make supervision enjoyable—I take the work seriously, but I also believe that laughter and connection are essential parts of learning.
I am passionate about helping new clinicians step into their full potential. If you’re looking for supervision that is challenging, supportive, fun, and focused on real growth, I’d love to be part of your journey.

My Approach to Supervision
Just as I value the therapeutic relationship between therapist and client, I believe a strong, trusting alliance between supervisor and supervisee is essential. Supervision is not just logging hours—it can be a transformative experience that helps you grow into the clinician you aspire to be. My approach focuses on:
- Understanding trauma’s impact on cognition through an attachment lens– Helping you recognize how trauma shapes thought processes and client interactions.
- Self-exploration and professional identity– Supporting you in identifying your values, strengths, and challenges to develop your unique therapeutic style.
- Balancing your authentic self in the therapy space– Guiding you in the ethical and effective use of self disclosure and personal experiences in clinical work.
- Boundary-setting in the therapeutic relationship– Ensuring you maintain professional, ethical, and sustainable practices.
- Ethical decision-making and clinical responsibility– Encouraging critical thinking and best practices to uphold the highest standards of care.
What to Expect from Supervision with Me
My attachment-based approach will encourage you to explore how your own experiences shape your work as a clinician. While I challenge you to grow, I also bring warmth and humor into our sessions, creating a balanced and supportive environment. I am a progressive and inclusive professional, and that will be evident in our work together.
What I Promise
- To gently guide you in recognizing how both your adaptive and maladaptive patterns influence your clinical work.
- To help you set meaningful professional goals and develop realistic strategies to achieve them.
- To be my real, authentic self—creating a space where you feel safe to do the same, especially when receiving feedback.
- To make you laugh—because professional growth doesn’t have to be devoid of joy.
It is truly an honor to support new clinicians on their journey toward confidence and competence. If you’re looking for a trauma-informed supervisor who will help you grow both professionally and personally, I would love the opportunity to work with you.Â
Ana Quirk, LMFT
![Ana Ana](https://workscounselingcenter.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Ana.jpg)
I am a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist and an AAMFT-Approved Supervisor Candidate with extensive experience working with trauma and grief. My therapeutic approach, which incorporates elements of Somatic Therapy, Mindfulness, and Compassion-Focused Therapy, is also influenced by my training as a yoga and meditation teacher, as a death midwife, and as a practitioner of Buddhist psychology. As a clinician, I place great emphasis on the mind-body connection and on the importance of working from a trauma-informed, neurodivergent-informed, culturally sensitive and systemic perspective.Â
My Approach to Supervision
I believe that your presence as a therapist is a powerful intervention, and as a supervisor, I strive to help you find your own presence and voice as a therapist. Supervision can and should be more than just a graduation/licensure requirement- it can water and nourish your growth as a clinician, and encourage your growth as a person as you step into this role. My approach focuses on:
- Understanding trauma’s impact from a systemic perspective – Helping you recognize trauma’s footprint on the nervous system and the influence of larger systems, including intergenerational trauma, on the body and their impact on the brain.
- Finding your presence as a therapist – Guiding you in the process of grounding yourself in the therapy room and gently encouraging you to sit in the discomfort to use it as a catalyst for growth, self-exploration, and the practice of mindfulness.
- Discovering your therapeutic style – Empowering you to stay rooted in your values, use your strengths to find your professional identity, and be mindful of your areas of growth while working from a trauma-informed and systemic lens.
- Boundary-setting in the therapeutic relationship – Ensuring you maintain professional, ethical, and sustainable practices, including personal boundaries and the use of self-disclosure.
- Ethical decision-making and clinical responsibility – Encouraging critical thinking and best practices to uphold the highest standards of care.
What to Expect from Supervision with Me
My mindfulness and somatic-based framework will encourage you to connect with yourself and explore how your own experiences, including your own grief and adversity, shape your identity and work as a clinician. I bring a heavily meditated goth energy and compassionate presence into our sessions, with a down-to-earth, no BS approach. My goal is to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where curiosity is encouraged and we can learn from ourselves, each other, and our work in a lighthearted yet occasionally existentialist way.
You can expect me to…
- Guide you in discovering your unique strengths as a therapist as well as areas of opportunity, and to hold you accountable to your values, goals, and ethics.
- Encourage authenticity, curiosity, compassion, and introspection.
- Welcome honesty, humor, vulnerability, feedback, hard questions, and not knowing.
- Empower you to feel grounded and confident in your clinical skills.
- Show up as my authentic self and create a space where you feel safe to do the same, prioritizing growth, self (and community) care, connection, and wholeness over perfection.
If you’re looking for a quirky, direct, and supportive supervisor to walk alongside you on your journey, I would be honored to support you in becoming an ethical, competent, and confident therapist.
