Sallie’s goal in therapy is to build a genuine connection with clients so that they may feel seen, heard, and understood. Asking for help is difficult, so she provides a safe, judgement free zone for clients to explore their struggles and emotions. Sallie uses a person-centered approach, which means she supports clients in discovering their own unique needs and encourages them in reaching their personal goals.
Education:
Sallie is a Master’s level therapist working towards full licensure as an LPC-MHSP. She received her B.A. in Psychology and Spanish from the University of the South: Sewanee and received her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a Specialization in Play Therapy from Lipscomb University.
Hobbies:
Sallie enjoys cooking, baking, trying new restaurants around town, and spending time with family and friends. She likes to stay active, be outdoors and has a lifelong hobby of drawing, painting, and coloring.
Specialties:
Sallie specializes in Play Therapy for children ages 3 to 12, but sees clients across the lifespan for individual, couples, and family therapy. Sallie works with those who experience a range of emotional and behavioral struggles, such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, life transitions, low self-esteem, grief, relationship issues, and trauma. She has training in Expressive Arts and Sandtray therapy and often uses these techniques in session with clients of all ages.
