Education
I received a Master’s in Couples and Family Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. Prior to that, I received a Bachelor’s in Psychology and Sociology from Virginia Commonwealth University. I am an LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor) in Florida, and am currently working towards full LPC-MHSP licensure in Tennessee.
Style
My primary goal is to create a safe and judgement-free environment to assist with facilitating change. I am experienced using multiple counseling theories, and apply the theory that is the best fit for the client. Some examples of theories I use most often are Person Centered Therapy, Existential Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and more. I will sometimes pull techniques from different modalities like Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Gestalt, and others.
Hobbies
I enjoy doing crafts, specifically crocheting and embroidery! Typically in my free time I enjoy video games, Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons and Dragons, and watching movies. I also love spending time with my dog, Cowboy, and two cats, Cali and Murray! I like to explore new areas and try out new foods, desserts, and coffee.
