I am an empathetic and dedicated counselor who is passionate about providing a space where people feel seen, heard, accepted, and supported. I have a genuine care for others and am deeply committed to helping people heal and overcome the challenges that are hindering them from living a healthy and fulfilled life. Sitting with someone as they share intimate parts of their life is something that I do not take lightly and I believe is a sacred experience. It takes much bravery to seek counseling and I approach each of my clients with a deep respect for their courage. I believe that each person has the ability to grow and heal when given the right support and environment.

Education

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Child & Family Studies from the University of Tennessee. I then completed my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Play Therapy from Lipscomb University.

Style:

In counseling, I use a person-centered approach where I utilize the power of empathy, genuineness, active listening, and a non-judgmental environment so the client feels safe to explore their thoughts and emotions. When working with children ages 10 and under, I utilize Child-Centered Play Therapy, creating a safe space where play facilitates the child’s emotional expression and self-exploration in a developmentally appropriate manner. For adolescents and adults, I often integrate expressive arts and sand tray therapy alongside traditional talk therapy. These creative modalities can offer a tangible way to connect with your inner world, often revealing insights that may be difficult to express through words alone. I also draw from evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based techniques, and narrative therapy, depending on what best supports each client’s goals. While my foundation is person-centered, I take an integrative approach to counseling, tailoring each session to meet the unique needs, strengths, personality, and preferences of each client.

Hobbies:

In my free time, you can find me taking walks, reading, baking new recipes, exploring local coffee shops, spending time with family and friends, and cheering on the Vols in any sport. I also never say no to a beach trip!
