Intro:
Hello, my name is Alex and I believe individuals are the expert of their own life. When clients recognize that they have the power to influence their own lives in the face of past trauma or experiences, they can than take steps to develop a sense of autonomy and self-awareness. I am passionate about helping others find meaning and healing through the dynamic of storytelling and self-discovery.
Education:
I am pursuing a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling, with a Clinical Mental Health Concentration, at Middle Tennessee State University. I am projected to graduate in the Spring of 2026. I earned my Bachelor’s degree of Science in Psychology in 2021, also at Middle Tennessee State University.
My Style:
As a counseling intern, I operate from a Narrative Therapy perspective, working collaboratively with clients to explore their unique stories and helping them rewrite those narratives in empowering and life-affirming ways.
Hobbies:
In my free time I like to listen to thriller and mystery audiobooks- especially those written by women authors. I watch true-crime documentaries because I genuinely believe I will solve that 20-year old cold case! I love to travel and experience new places and visit historical sites. One of my favorite things while traveling is trying new and exciting foods.
Specialties:
Ages: 18+. Trauma and crisis informed, complex relationship dynamics, anxiety, stress management, and grief.
Please note: all therapists at Works Counseling Center are LGBT+ competent and committed to anti racism.
