Intro:

Hello, my name is Alex and I believe individuals are the expert of their own life. When clients recognize that they have the power to influence their own lives in the face of past trauma or experiences, they can than take steps to develop a sense of autonomy and self-awareness. I am passionate about helping others find meaning and healing through the dynamic of storytelling and self-discovery.

Education:

I earned an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Professional Counseling with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health from Middle Tennessee State University, graduating in May 2026. I also earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University in 2021.

I am currently an Associatively Licensed Professional Counselor working toward full licensure as a LPC/MHSP, and I am committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care while continuing to grow as a clinician.

My Style:

My approach to therapy is collaborative, authentic, and rooted in the belief that you are the expert on your own life. I integrate Narrative Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you explore the stories you tell yourself, identify patterns that may be holding you back, and develop new perspectives that reflect your strengths, values, and goals. Together, we’ll build practical skills to help you navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and resilience.

I believe meaningful change happens through honesty, curiosity, and a strong therapeutic relationship. My style is warm, empathetic, and nonjudgmental while also being direct when needed. I will challenge unhelpful beliefs, patterns, and avoidance with empathy and respect, always keeping your goals and pace at the center of our work. My goal is to create a space where you feel supported, understood, and empowered to build a life that feels authentic and fulfilling.

Hobbies:

In my free time I like to listen to thriller and mystery audiobooks- especially those written by women authors. I watch true-crime documentaries because I genuinely believe I will solve that 20-year old cold case! I love to travel and experience new places and visit historical sites. One of my favorite things while traveling is trying new and exciting foods.
