About Katie Ayres

As a clinical counseling intern, I am passionate about creating a space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to grow. I understand that stepping into vulnerability can feel difficult, and I strive to meet each person with empathy, respect, and a nonjudgmental presence. As our  therapeutic relationship develops, we will work collaboratively to identify your goals and move toward meaningful, lasting change together. 

Education

Katie (she/her) is currently pursuing a masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lipscomb University. Previously, she received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Memphis and a Master of Arts in Childhood Education and Special Education from New York University. 

Hobbies

Outside of class and clinical work, Katie can often be found spoiling her bulldog, Molly, trying new restaurants, and having a good laugh with friends and family. She enjoys traveling all over the world, and is always up for a spontaneous adventure. 

Specialties

Katie welcomes the opportunity to work with clients from all backgrounds. She is especially passionate about trauma-informed care and enjoys working with adolescents and individuals navigating substance use, adoption, OCD, anxiety, and self-esteem challenges.
