Hey there, I’m Mariah!
I believe therapy should be a space where people feel safe, supported, and accepted exactly as they are. My interest in therapy began in high school when I first experienced the impact of feeling truly heard and understood, and since then I’ve been passionate about supporting others through their own healing and growth. I view therapy as a collaborative journey rooted in compassion, authenticity, and trust, and I strive to meet clients where they are while honoring their unique stories and experiences. My hope is to help clients build resilience, self-understanding, and confidence as they move through life’s challenges.
Education
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University, Fullerton, where I also completed a minor in Child and Adolescent Development. I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at The Chicago School as part of my path toward becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor–Mental Health Service Provider (LPC-MHSP).
My Approach
My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each client’s unique needs and experiences. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Attachment Theory, Person-Centered Therapy, Trauma-Informed Care, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Narrative Therapy to help clients better understand themselves, navigate challenges, and develop healthier patterns and coping skills.
I understand that opening up and seeking support can feel vulnerable, so I strive to create a space where clients can feel comfortable exploring their thoughts, emotions, relationships, and experiences at their own pace. Whether clients are processing difficult experiences, navigating relationship challenges, or working toward greater confidence and self-understanding, my hope is to support them with empathy, encouragement, and genuine care throughout their healing journey.
Hobbies
Outside of school and counseling, I enjoy exploring Nashville with friends and experiencing everything the city has to offer. I especially love attending country concerts, discovering new coffee cafés, spending time outdoors with my puppy, and reading a new book series with friends.
