About Melissa Rhoades

Melissa (she/her) believes we are the experts of ourselves and wants the therapeutic space to be collaborative and healing. She leads with curiosity and wants to provide a calming and safe environment for all of her clients. She believes you deserve respect and empathy no matter where you are in your journey.

Education

Melissa has an undergraduate degree in Music Business from MTSU and is currently perusing her Master in Social Work from UTK.

My Style

As a social work student, Melissa is committed to learning and growing alongside her clients. She takes a person-centered approach, while focusing on working collaboratively and approaching her clients with kindness. Therapy can be intimidating, and is a vulnerable space so it’s important to her that your work together feel comfortable and safe.

Hobbies

Outside of school and clinical work, Melissa likes spending time with her dog, Ziggy and cat, Bugs. She is a huge music fan and also enjoys reading, traveling, watching survivor and Gilmore girls, and eating amazing food.

Specialties

Melissa is open to working with anyone from any intersectional identity or background. She has experience working with justice impacted teens and has deeply enjoyed that work. She is also looking forward to exploring work with couples, sex therapy, chronic illness, and teens.
