Hi, my name is Samantha. As a counseling intern, my goal is to make my clients feel safe, heard, and seen. Therapy is for everybody, no matter where they are in their lives or what they have been through. Another goal of mine is to help destigmatize the negative connotation with therapy or seeking mental health care. I plan to do this by supporting my clients to the best of my ability and providing a safe place for them. In therapy, all the little goals matter just as much as the big ones, and I look forward to helping my clients achieve them.
Education
After graduating from Lamar University with my bachelor’s degree in nutrition, I have been pursuing my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling.
Hobbies
In my free time, I enjoy reading, swimming, cooking, and talking to loved ones. I enjoy consuming all things true crime, documentaries, and horror movies. I have two cats named Whimsey and Wren, who I adore very much. I enjoy taking walks outside in nature and trying to perfect my grandmother’s recipes. I am a homebody for the most part, but I do enjoy going to the movies or trying new restaurants.
Please note: all therapists at Works Counseling Center are LGBT+ competent and committed to anti racism.
