If you ask most therapists, they have a “to be read” pile a mile long, and I am right along with them! I also love to read and find it to be such a grounding hobby to utilize. While grounding is meant to have you be in the present, it is also beneficial to have things to look forward to.
When we have things to look forward too, we know something good is coming. It allows us to focus on the gratitude and be excited of what is to come! This is a list of what I am looking forward to reading in 2025!

No Bad Parts: Healing Trauma & Restoring Wholeness with The Internal Family Systems Model by Richard C. Schwartz, PhD
This is a book I am most looking forward to because I am very interested in utilizing IFS in my therapeutic work. This book has been recommended to me by a fellow therapist to introduce me to IFS. This book shares how IFS came to be, how it works, and why it works. I am so excited to continue to learn and grow next year.
Assistant to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer
Evie isn’t desperate, but she desperate for a job. In this book, we watch Evie find herself as the assistant to a powerful villain. As she slowly starts to get used to the uniqueness of the job, she finds herself hunting for a rat in her bosses home. I have been told this book is like if Ella Enchanted had a job and I immediately added it to my list. This is also the first book of the series!
The Curse of Sins by Kate Dramis
This is the second installment from a series called The Curse of Saints! The series is around a women named Aya who is the Queens spymaster. When her powers start to gain more power and the threat of dark magic in her kingdom grows, she is challenged with possibility of being used as a weapon of war. Between that and her hatred for the Queens right hand, Will. Aya has her hands full! I cannot recommend this series enough and I cannot wait to see what is in store in book two!
The Charm Offensive by Alison Cochran
The final book in this list is a book is a love story between a contestant on a show like The Bachelor and a producer! It is queer and funny with wonderful mental health representation. This may be a surprise, but this will be my second time reading this book. The first time I read this book I had to put it down because the anxiety portrayed in the book was so accurate, that it made me anxious. I loved the premise and the characters, this book deserves a second chance.
I wish you a happy New Year and a year full of your favorite things!
