Let’s just go ahead and say it.. therapists are not robots. We cry, we binge reality TV, we have group chats full of chaotic memes, and some of us make content.. Reels, TikToks, even a good old therapy meme here and there.

I’m one of those therapists. And before you ask — no, I’m not diagnosing strangers on the internet, and no, I’m not filming my clients (that’s a no-no). But I am talking about healing, boundaries, breakups, and the beauty of self-awareness one scrollable post at a time.

Because here’s the truth, therapy doesn’t have to start in a therapist’s office anymore.

Sometimes it starts when you’re lying in bed at 2 a.m. watching a reel that makes you whisper, “Wow… that’s me.”

Why did I start making content? Honestly? I got tired of people thinking therapy was just laying on a couch and talking about your week for 45 minutes. (Although, sometimes it is that. And that’s okay!) But more than that, I started creating content because I wanted to make mental health feel less intimidating and more human. There’s so much shame, fear, and confusion around getting help,  especially in communities where therapy hasn’t always been welcomed with open arms. So I thought, what if I bring therapy to people where they already are? Spoiler alert: people are on their phones. All. The. Time.

So I show up there — in their feed, on their FYP, in between cute dog videos and dance trends — with some real talk about emotions, boundaries, relationships, and healing.

Now don’t get it twisted — making therapy content while being a therapist is a tightrope walk. My goal is always to educate, not therapize, and to connect without crossing boundaries. That means no giving out personal advice in DMs, no sharing client stories, and no pretending I’ve got all the answers. I’m not trying to be the internet’s therapist. I’m just someone who knows a thing or two about healing and wants to make that knowledge a little more accessible — and a lot less boring.

Being a therapist content creator also means I get to speak to people who may never step foot in therapy — at least not right away. I get to:

  • Break down myths about mental health
  • Drop gems about emotional regulation
  • Spill tea on toxic patterns
  • Give people language for what they’ve been feeling
  • And remind folks that healing is messy, but worth it

And the best part? It sounds like me. My content isn’t stuffy or textbook-y. I’m not here to lecture,  I’m here to connect. I want people to laugh, nod their heads, feel seen, and maybe even hit “save” because something I said finally clicked. Therapy is evolving. And if I can help someone heal and make them laugh a little while they scroll? That’s a win-win!
