Alex (she/they) offers tailored support in managing symptoms, exploring identity, and promoting self-compassion. Alex’s passion and focus is empowering neurodivergent folks in addressing and building daily practices for reducing stress and enhancing overall well-being. Alex believes that curiosity and self compassion are fundamental to managing symptoms, exploring identity, and creating sustainable and practical systems that support neurodiversity in its many forms.

Alex received a Master in Science and Social Work with a clinical focus from University of Tennessee Knoxville in May of 2018. She is currently in the process of completing her LCSW and receiving ongoing supervision with the goal of becoming fully licensed by the end of the year. Prior to becoming a therapist Alex worked in the nonprofit sector while pursuing her masters degree and completing her LMSW.

My Style:

Alex approaches therapy with warmth and curiosity. Sessions are a casual yet structured time where clients can learn about themselves, restore balance in day-to-day life, and feel heard. She prioritizes humor and mutual respect to build rapport , emphasizing authenticity and self-acceptance as key to improving daily life. Alex conducts highly collaborative and informative sessions, ensuring a cognitive and emotional integration. Her main therapeutic modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Somatic Therapy, and Exposure Ritual Prevention although she most often uses an eclectic approach that best fits each client’s needs.

In her spare time, she enjoys camping and spending time outdoors. Hosting game nights and dinner parties with their partner. Alex is also passionate about reptiles and loves taking care of their bearded dragon Zuko and corn snake Nadja. They also enjoy spoiling their fur babies Jack (dog) and Miss Kitty (cat).

Alex has a passion for working with adults from ages 20-45 who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent community (OCD, ADHD, ASD). They also enjoy working with teachers, healthcare professionals and creatives.

Please note: all therapists at Works Counseling Center are LGBT+ competent and committed to anti racism.
