Coral Lu (she, her) strives to create a truly safe and non-judgmental space where her clients with all identities can show up as their authentic selves. Her approach to therapy is integrative and person-centered. She uses a relational framework to help her clients understand how their past affects their present, and where they learn the habits and beliefs they carry with them. With knowledge about their patterns, Coral helps her clients develop skills, insight and strategies to overcome life’s challenges and to create a fulfilling future.


Coral is a student intern therapist working towards her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Vanderbilt University. She previously obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. She also has academic research experiences at UC San Diego, University of Michigan and Vanderbilt University.


Outside of school and work, you can usually find Coral spending time with her toddler and partner, doing yoga, reading, journaling and doing art projects with her friends.


Coral welcomes clients of all ages who are dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, issues of attachment and relationships. She provides therapeutic spaces for people from various cultural backgrounds including LBGTQ+ individuals, diverse families, BIPOC, immigrants and children of immigrants. Coral is originally from Beijing, China. She provides culturally sensitive counseling and collaboratively works with her clients to find strategies to live their full lives outside the majority culture.
